Whether you are a serious nordic skier and racer, an old-school tourist, or anywhere in between, the Stagecoach Classic is a unique chance to experience a 30km or 15km classic-only cross country ski trek from Devil's Thumb Ranch, through the old Idlewild Ski Area, to Hideaway Park in downtown Winter Park, Colorado. In the past, the Idlewild trail system connected Devil's Thumb Ranch to Tabernash, Fraser and Winter Park. It is still remembered by skiers as one of the best nordic areas in Colorado. This is a rare chance to ski such a beautiful, "off the map" course. Plus, it's an exclusive opportunity as this will be the only time this winter that this trail system will be connected and groomed for skier access! We'll finish in classic Winter Park style with a post-race party, hot food, beer garden & live music at Hideaway Park in downtown Winter Park, Colorado.
A portion of the race and tour proceeds will go towards the Trout Unlimited campaign to protect and preserve the endangered Fraser River.
We will be looking for volunteers! All volunteers receive Stagecoach Classic merchandise and entry to the after party BBQ and beer tent.
The Stagecoach Classic is operating under a special use permit from the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest.
