Expect great live and silent auction items, excellent food and drink, the views of the Indian Peaks Range and the chance to socialize with others that want to protect and preserve our local cold water fisheries and environment. The annual summer banquet for our TU chapter is the only major fundraising event that we conduct. That makes your participation critical to our mission. The banquet has evolved into a very fun evening for all involved and provides much needed financial assistance for the projects we support. These include education outreach in the schools, stream temperature monitoring, youth conservation camp sponsorship, a family fly fishing event, funding for Front Range education on the impact of water diversions, and the continued fight to keep as much water on this side of the divide as we can. An ongoing part of our educational outreach is an informational TV show on local cable channel 18 Outside TV here in Grand County.
Our annual banquet is our only significant fundraiser of the year. This is how we raise the money to defend the Upper Colorado, Fraser, Grand Lake and all our water in Grand County. As chapter president Kirk Klancke said at the 2012 event, "we're not just a fly fishing club, we're a club dedicated to saving our environment for our grand kids."
